Misty Mountain Shilohs and High Caliber Shilohs are very excited to announce the pairing of High Caliber’s Dark Knight to MSprCH NSbCH Sunshine’s Lady Sophia CGC.

Our Sophia is a beautifully coated, gray sable, plush female who was proudly bred by Sunshine Shilohs out of the stunning sire/dam combination of multiple top award winning, GRAND VICTORx6, Master Supreme Grand Champion, Sir Harley of Shenandoah and multiple top award winning, 4xNational Select, Grand Champion Catoctin's Rae of Sunshine. She is truly an exceptional representation of the Shiloh Shepherd breed in both temperament and confirmation. One of her awesome assets that she brings to this breeding is her pure old line Shiloh Shepherd pedigree which carries zero outcrosses and which is built on the high excelling championship lines. Along with Sophie’s outstanding pedigree and health statistics, she has also proven herself to the standard by doing very well in the show ring easily obtaining her Master Supreme championship and receiving early National Select status. Her temperament is medium –soft creating a very obedient and highly intelligent animal. Sophie was often used as an example by the trainer in obedience classes because she was such a fast learner. She is devoted to her family, follows us around constantly and intuitively protects us from the evil chipmunks in the yard. She does have a high prey drive and will willing give chase to things that challenge her yard. Sophie rounds out her assets by excelling in agility class.

Brutus is from the first litter born here at High Caliber Shilohs, out of our very own Kiana and Murphy. He started life as the smallest pup in a litter of nine, and was my husband’s favorite. After eight weeks though, he was the biggest of the bunch and so very sweet and gentle. We were both smitten with him and decided to keep him and name him High Caliber’s Dark Knight, due to his noble nature and dark coat. The call name Brutus came after my husband visited “Big Brutus”, a Bucyrus Erie model 1850B, the largest electric shovel in the world, now retired and on display as “a museum and memorial dedicated to the rich coal mining history in southeast Kansas.” Brutus continued to grow into a dog befitting that name, weighing in at over 100 pounds at seven months old.

Brutus began his show career by winning Best Puppy in Specialty with the TSSR and a few months later was awarded Best Junior Puppy and Reserve Winners Dog at the Shiloh Shepherd International Show in Ontario, Canada, at seven months of age. A few months after that, Brutus won Top Champion 2010 with the NAKC followed by his first Best In Show adult win at only ten months old. Brutus’ other achievements include ISSDC Puppy Of The Year for 2010, NSBR Top Puppy #1 for 2010, NSBR National Select #1 for 2010, ISSDC National Select #1 for 2012, ABIDS #1 Shiloh for 2012, ABIDS #4 Dog All Breeds for 2012, Breed, American, Canadian, and International Championships, IABCA Champion, ICKC Grand Champion, ABIDS Master Champion, Canine Good Citizen, Canadian Canine Good Neighbor, and adult Temperament Test certificate.

All these achievements have not gone to Brutus' large and handsome head. He remains a big sweetheart who loves to get hugs and is still our “snuggleupagus”. Brutus has tons of substance with heavy bone, a wide chest and broad head with well-defined stop and beautiful ears, and has gorgeous pigment, coat color and pattern. He enjoys agility classes as well as conformation showing. His good looks and goofy attitude make me smile every day.

Their virtues complement each other wonderfully and we anticipate large puppies with heavy bone, broad heads and exceptional structure. Sables and duals in plush coats are expected and the possibility of some blacks! Temperaments will be medium to medium-soft. Excellent hip and health statistics can be found in both sire and dam. This is Sophia’s second breeding and first breeding for Brutus.
