I am constantly searching for honest to goodness Shiloh "type". It's a very subjective thing amoung breeders, as we all have our notions of what we consider the perfect "type". I think a lot of breeders reflect upon their first Shiloh, or perhaps their most top winning Shiloh. I can't help but hold up our first Shiloh, Sarge, as my ideal for temperament and beauty. This is the "type" that I'm striving to recreate with my breeding of Ruby to Raiden.
I consider Ruby to be a helluva typey Shiloh bitch. She was frequently confused for Sarge at a quick glance! Ruby is incredibly tactile, demandingly communicative, super affectionate and way too smart for her own good. LOL Her movement in the show ring has been nothing less than stunning, long fluid strides, unwavering top line, and presence for days! In the limited time I've had available to show her the past year, she's earned two National Select titles with the NSBR as well as the ISSDC. At a conservative 28 inches and 100 lbs Ruby has excellent size for a girl - which I expect her to pass along to her babies. She was my pick bitch out of the Carter/Trinity litter, with tons of size and awesome temperaments in her immediate pedigree as well.
I love Raiden and I also love his pedigree. Raiden is a 1/2 brother to Cash, who sired my recent litter with Poppy. The pups from that litter were magnificent! Seeing that Poppy and Ruby are 1/2 sisters I'm hoping for similar results, but with a bit more of that "Sarge" look as per Ruby. As a young dog, Raiden is doing VERY well in the show ring. Having spent some time with him, I can say he's an incredible sweetheart. Not a surprise though with such great dogs behind him! But of particular interest to me is the typeyness behind his dam, Karma. She's not only renowned for her true flying trot, but she's out of Sonja/Grizz, with Grizz being the sire of my Sarge. I'm hoping to lock in some killer phenotype in this litter. I expect great bone, height and temperament via Ruby's Carter/Trinity side, and I anticipate movement and super-typeyness via Raiden's Karma/Brodie side. Please contact me if you have any questions.
